Our story
Hi, we are two guys from the Czech Republic who are really passionate about hockey. We have loved hockey since childhood. We both played in youth leagues and idolized the same stars as Mario Lemieux, Jaromír Jágr, Dominik Hašek or Wayne Gretzky. Neither of us ever made it to the top players, so when the time came, school and work took priority.
When we returned to hockey after years, we were so excited to finally be able to buy new gear – and it smells so good.
I remember sitting in the locker room before our first game, burying our faces in our brand new gloves and smelling the signature scent. And then we realized that the sport we loved so much as kids was once again bringing us shared joy.
Of course, hockey gear needed a bag. But for us, it wasn't as easy as it sounds. We lived in small apartments – in apartment buildings without elevators – and the huge, heavy hockey bags we carried wouldn't fit through the doors and the wheels were useless on the stairs. Moreover, the bags dictated our mode of transportation, making it impossible to take public transportation or bike, and traveling to play sports straight from work was practically impossible.
We searched hard for a solution, but no bag met our needs. So we came up with an idea – to make our own bag, thanks to which traveling to play hockey would no longer be a suffering, but a joy.
The beginning of the 2019 hockey season was the moment when we made our first prototype. We called it a “coffin.” It was a long, narrow cardboard box glued together with a few rubber straps over the shoulder. This was how we verified that we could carry hockey gear on our backs.
Then it only took about 15 more prototypes and three years of work before we found the perfect hockey backpack – The Great One.
We desire durability, flexibility, health and style. That is why we insist on perfect Czech craftsmanship, immortal CORDURA® material and YKK® zippers and plastic components. We emphasize comfortable wearing, the ability to pack the backpack into a small roll and, last but not least, an eye-catching design.
